COLLEGE
Hi! We’re N’Dea and Tim (Geographers) and we can’t wait to meet you all, we’ll be your St. Hilda’s CU reps for this year (2022-2023).
Congratulations on being accepted to study at Oxford, we hope that you’re excited to get stuck into this new journey. Hilda’s CU is warm, gospel-focused and aims to encourage and equip members to share their faith within college and across the university. We’re a close-knit community, from lots of different churches and backgrounds, and we strive to put Jesus at the centre of everything that we do. Moving to a new city and trying to find a new church can be hard and we want to help you settle into Oxford and find a place that you can call home.
We have sessions throughout the week including Bible studies, Prayer breakfast and Socials. These are opportunities to gather to read the Bible, pray, and catch up. Hilda’s CU also runs events across the year where we seek to share God’s love and His word with others - this usually entails giving out lots of free food!
Our CU makes up part of the Oxford Inter-Collegiate Christian Union (OICCU), which also runs other events such as Monday Morning Prayer (weekly), Central (fortnightly) and Events Week (in Hilary term). These are fantastic chances to gather with the other CUs and make friends across the university. OICCU also runs Freshaway for freshers at the end of September - this is a great opportunity to meet other Christians at the university before term starts.
Whether you would call yourself a Christian or you’re just interested in Christianity, we’d love to see you at any (or all) of the events we run. No worries if you can’t make it to any, feel free to stop us for a chat when you see us around college, find us on Facebook or drop us an email:
